Pinky Swear Productions
Presents World Premiere of Carol’s
Christmas
Award-winning local playwright Marni Penning pens hilarious holiday
comedy
Washington, DC, November 3, 2011
- Pinky Swear Productions is proud to present the world premiere of Marni
Penning's Carol's Christmas, the 2007 runner-up for the Robert J.
Pickering Award for Playwriting Excellence. Carol’s Christmas will play
Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, November 18 - December 23, 2011 at Theatre on the
Run in Arlington, VA.
Carol's been through the worst
breakup of her life and refuses to leave the house. In a modern-day twist of
Charles Dickens’ classic, the ghosts of Ex-Boyfriend Past, Ex-Husband Present,
and Partner-Yet-to-Be arrive on Christmas Eve to convince her to open the door
and get on with her life.
“Like the precocious love child of Charles
Dickens and Bridget Jones, Carol’s Christmas is sometimes dark, always funny,
and a deeply relatable story about relationships and how they affect our lives
— for better or for worse,” said co-artistic director Karen Lange.
Directed by Toni Rae Brotons
(Cabaret XXX, 2011 Capital Fringe Festival Best Musical), Carol's Christmas also features
Pinky Swear Company Members Karen Lange and Allyson Harkey with Robin
Covington, Christopher Herring, and Jack Powers in a hilarious holiday comedy
for grown-ups and humbugs everywhere.

Pinky Swear Productions (PSP) Pinky
Swear is a theatre company that produces plays with bold, strong, engaging
female characters. We are interested in new stories and new storytellers. Our
productions are a little funny, a little dark, and a lot entertaining. We hire
women - both artists and technicians - whenever possible. We believe in a world
where all theatre artists can make a living and do our best to bring that world
to fruition. Ultimately, we like plays where people talk to each other and
things happen. Learn more at www.pinkyswear-productions.com
